
Kelly Thomas is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Kentucky. Early in her career,
Kelly earned a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a
concentration in Special Education from Northern Kentucky University. She has taught in both public and private schools in the role of a classroom teacher, special education teacher, and a teacher of the gifted and talented. She worked with students from early elementary age through young adults including typical and exceptional learners. During Kelly’s time as a teacher, she developed expertise in the areas of assessment, individualizing and differentiating instruction and programs, and collaborating on both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams.
Kelly’s passion for advocacy and her client-centered approach were cultivated in her early years in education, but it was her intellectual curiosity regarding the process of personal change and the value of interpersonal relationships that motivated her to returned to NKU for a Master’s degree in Social Work. Since graduating with an MSW, Kelly has enjoyed working with a wide variety of clients in diverse settings including a hospital, court-mandated program, and most recently an outpatient office and school-based office. Kelly provides individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults. She also provides family and couples therapy utilizing a systems approach. Kelly enjoys partnering with individuals, couples, and families to gain a better understanding of themselves and their relationships.
